Water Filling Machine Safety: Supplier Evidence Checklist

Treat machine safety as a documented procurement requirement. Ask a competent supplier to identify the applicable requirements, assess the configured machine and provide the supporting records. This checklist does not certify a machine or replace assessment by qualified safety professionals.

01

Define the machine and installation boundary

Supply the destination, intended use, bottle formats, interfaces and operator/maintenance tasks. Require the supplier to state which machine configuration its assessment covers and which site or connected-equipment risks remain for others.

  • Machine identification and approved layout
  • Operating, cleaning and service activities
  • Named responsibility for connected equipment
02

Request a safeguarding evidence package

Ask for the risk-assessment record, guarding arrangement, access points and documented safety functions appropriate to the machine. A generic certificate or a door switch in a photograph is not enough to establish the configured system's suitability.

  • Document title, revision and equipment scope
  • Guard and access drawings
  • Safety-function verification and validation records where applicable
03

Plan controlled demonstrations

Have qualified personnel agree and perform tests using the supplier's documented procedure. Record expected and actual response, restart conditions and defects. Do not bypass guards, interlocks or emergency-stop functions to keep a trial running.

  • Approved test method and responsible person
  • Deviations and corrective-action evidence
  • Retest and release decision
04

Close installation and training obligations

Record residual risks, isolation instructions, warning labels and the training/document language in the handover package. Any site modification affecting safeguarding must be reviewed through the responsible engineering process before use.

  • Operator and maintenance instructions
  • Site-interface responsibilities
  • Open safety items closed before the relevant release

Questions and answers

Does a CE logo alone prove the machine is compliant?

A logo does not replace verification of the applicable documents, their issuer and scope, and their match to the delivered machine. Have qualified personnel review the requirements for the destination.

Can I ask for guards to be bypassed during a speed demonstration?

No. Request a test under the supplier's approved safe procedure with protective functions in service.

What should I request before ordering?

A machine-specific document register, safeguarding and interface responsibilities, proposed verification records, instructions and a process for closing safety-related deviations.
