Retrofit and replacement

Replace or Upgrade a Water Filling Machine in an Existing Line

Treat a replacement filler as an interface and shutdown project. Survey the installed line, issue one controlled as-is package and make every modification and restart responsibility visible before order.

01

Survey before quotation

Photograph and measure the current machine boundary instead of asking suppliers to guess.

  • Current model and nameplate
  • Infeed/outfeed centerline, height and direction
  • Available footprint and maintenance clearance
  • Utilities, drains, controls and cable routes
02

Record connected equipment

The upstream and downstream limitations may define the practical output of the replacement.

  • Bottle supply or blower
  • Air conveyors and table conveyors
  • Labeler, coder and packer
  • Accumulation and inspection points
03

Plan changeover and downtime

Define who removes the old machine, prepares the floor, makes services safe and restarts production.

  • Shutdown window
  • Rigging and access
  • Foundation and drainage changes
  • Temporary production plan
04

Acceptance after installation

Separate factory FAT from site integration and ramp-up checks.

  • Mechanical and electrical fit
  • Signal and interlock checks
  • Product-water and drain verification
  • Performance test with the existing line

Questions and answers

What should be measured before replacing a water filling machine?

Measure centerlines, infeed/outfeed elevations and directions, usable footprint, access and maintenance clearance, conveyor and accumulation conditions, utilities, drains, cable routes, control signals and safety boundaries.

Can an existing line keep its current conveyors and controls?

Only after compatibility is verified for speed, height, bottle transfer, accumulation, signal logic, emergency-stop boundary and physical condition. Record required modifications and their owner in the proposal.

How should a replacement-machine shutdown be planned?

Separate old-machine isolation/removal, floor and utility work, delivery and rigging, mechanical/electrical integration, dry and wet commissioning, SAT, training and restart contingency into owned gates.

Replacement-machine interface survey

Issue one as-is package before suppliers design the replacement.

The replacement RFQ should show the physical line, measured handover points, utilities, controls, safety boundary, connected-equipment limitations and shutdown plan. Unmeasured interfaces become site modifications or delays later.

Next procurement decision

Map the existing interfaces before a replacement machine is quoted.

Send elevations, space, utilities, controls, surrounding equipment and the available shutdown window.
