A cap elevator and sorter must deliver the approved closure in the required orientation at the capper's demand. Ask for a complete cap-feed boundary, including storage, feeding, sensing and fault response. A capper speed claim does not establish that the quoted accessory package can support it.
Send cap dimensions, weight, material, orientation requirements and sample lots. Explain how operators will replenish caps and identify the available loading space. Have the supplier confirm a hopper and loading arrangement for this specific application.
For one closure per bottle, an illustrative 12,000 bottles/hour requires 200 correctly presented caps/minute before any agreed reserve. This is a demand calculation, not a rating for an Allot Tech accessory. Ask the bidder how its proposal handles replenishment, rejected orientations and brief disturbances.
Specify the chute connection, cover/access arrangement, full/empty detection and which controller starts or stops each device. A “cap elevator included” line should not leave installation brackets, sensors, cabling or coordination responsibility implicit.
Observe orientation, cap damage, feed interruptions and operator replenishment using production-representative caps. Ask qualified personnel to demonstrate agreed shortage and recovery behavior under the supplier's procedure.
They perform different tasks: moving caps to the feed level and presenting them in the required orientation. The bidder must identify how both functions are provided in its design.
Request a review of both closures, required tooling and adjustment instructions. A similar external diameter is not enough evidence.
Use the approved caps at the agreed demand, observe orientation and damage, and document replenishment, low-level indication and controlled fault recovery.
