Air Conveyor to Water Filler: Buyer Interface Survey

Define the empty-bottle handover before selecting a filler for an existing PET air conveyor. The supplier needs bottle-neck geometry, transfer position, reference flow and control information. This page covers the filler connection; it is not a design for the complete conveying system.

01

Measure the bottle-handling interface

Provide the approved neck-finish drawing, support-ring dimensions, bottle weight and photos of the current guides and transfer. Include every contracted format and label unknown dimensions for measurement rather than estimating them from a photograph.

  • Bottle and neck drawing revisions
  • Guide spacing and handling arrangement
  • Current transfer wear or recurring bottle damage
02

Use a common layout datum

Record infeed direction, conveyor centerline and elevation at the physical handover. Include the available connection length, supports, access and nearby obstructions. Ask for a marked-up proposal showing the exact supplied and retained sections.

  • Dimensioned plan and elevation
  • Machine/conveyor connection owner
  • Required adapters and change parts
03

Agree how the upstream machine is notified

Request a signal list for run permission, blocked infeed, bottle shortage and fault status as applicable. State which party supplies sensors, wiring and software changes. Keep process handshakes separate from the machine's safeguarding functions.

  • Signal name, direction and electrical/interface type
  • Normal, stop and communications-loss states
  • Named commissioning owner
04

Verify transfer with the agreed bottles

Use representative bottles to observe entry stability, accumulation at the connection and recovery after a controlled interruption. If the actual upstream equipment is absent during FAT, record the simulated interface and carry the real connection test into site acceptance.

  • Record scope and limits of the trial.
  • Close damage, jam and signal deviations.

Questions and answers

Can every bottle use neck-handled air conveying?

Ask the supplier to review the actual bottle construction and neck geometry. Do not infer compatibility from the bottle's nominal volume.

Can the existing air conveyor be retained?

Potentially, after a dimensioned survey and a joint review of handling, supply and controls. Identify modifications separately in the quotation.

Who should supply the transfer section?

Assign one named party in the boundary drawing, including supports, guides, sensors, wiring and commissioning responsibility.
