Compare spare-parts packages by what they help you recover from, not just the number of pieces in a box. Request a list tied to the delivered machine, with exact identity, quantity, function and replenishment information. A low-cost spare set can still omit a part that stops production.
Ask for the machine serial/configuration reference, assembly, part number, description, drawing or photo, and installed quantity. For purchased components, include the actual manufacturer and model where applicable.
Review what happens if each part fails, whether a temporary operating alternative exists, and how long replacement may take. Separate routine consumables, format tooling and stoppage-critical components. The buyer should choose stock levels using its own duty and supply constraints.
Require included quantity, additional price, estimated replenishment lead time and dispatch conditions. Ask which special tools or configuration steps are needed. Label availability and lead times as supplier-confirmed values, not permanent website promises.
At FAT or packing, compare labels and quantities with the approved register and installed configuration. A component substitution on the machine should update the spare list and documentation before shipment.
There is no universal package duration. Base the order on operating duty, part criticality, replenishment constraints, shelf life and budget.
Coverage depends on the agreed terms. Identify consumables and exclusions explicitly instead of treating the spare-parts package as a warranty statement.
Ask the responsible supplier to verify suitability and record the approved alternative, especially where materials, control settings or safety functions are affected.
