Testing and acceptance

Water Filling Machine Quality Inspection: Buyer FAT Plan

Create an inspection plan before the water filler FAT. It should identify what counts as an accepted bottle, how each characteristic is checked and where results are recorded. A clean-looking output stream cannot establish fill accuracy, closure integrity or product-quality compliance on its own.

01

Separate equipment acceptance from product release

Machine FAT checks should match the purchase specification and approved packaging. The buyer's quality team must separately define product and regulatory release requirements. Do not treat a mechanical trial as a substitute for water-quality validation.

  • Machine output and packaging criteria
  • Product-quality responsibilities
  • Factory-test versus site-test boundaries
02

Write a characteristic-by-characteristic plan

For every check, record the method, instrument, sample timing, acceptance limits and decision owner. Include visual condition, fill measurement, closure application and leak checks where agreed.

  • Bottle/cap identity and sample lot
  • Measurement method and instrument reference
  • Sampling plan agreed by the buyer and supplier
  • Defect definitions and permitted disposition
03

Count accepted and rejected output consistently

Link quality results to the same run period used for the output claim. Record underfill, overfill, missing or damaged closures and damaged bottles according to the agreed categories. State how reworked bottles and uninspected output are treated.

  • Gross count, rejects and accepted count
  • Run conditions, stops and adjustments
  • No substitution of input count for accepted output
04

Retain evidence that can be traced

Keep individual measurements, inspection sheets, representative defect photos and the deviation register together. Record corrective action, retest conditions and release decision separately so a passed retest does not erase the original finding.

  • Machine/format/settings reference
  • Witness and date
  • Open items with closure evidence

Questions and answers

How many bottles should be inspected during FAT?

Agree the sampling plan according to the test objectives and project requirements. There is no single sample count that proves every machine, format or quality claim.

Should rejected bottles count toward guaranteed output?

Define the rule in the technical agreement. If the requirement is accepted good output, bottles failing the agreed criteria must be accounted for separately.

Does a passed FAT certify drinking-water quality?

No. Product-quality and regulatory release require their own approved methods and evidence under the responsible quality team's control.
